What went wrong?

Here are some questions that might help in finding out why the toy is not working the way you thought it would.

1)      Did the toy work before you started the process?

i)        Don’t laugh; many people forget to test the toy before they adapt it.

 2)      Are there batteries in the toy and are they good?

i)        Make sure to use fresh batteries and make sure that they are in the right way.

 3)      Does the switch that you have plugged into the toy work?

i)        Try it on another toy and see if it works.

 4)      Does the toy reset itself when you push the switch?

i)        You may have soldered the wires to the wrong connections – go to Step 11 to check your work.

ii)       Make sure that you have not used too much solder and cross-connected a circuit.

5)      Nothing happens when you push the switch (and you know the switch is good and the toy has batteries).

i)        Make sure you have a battery in the battery holder (single AA battery) to power the switch closure.

ii)       Make sure that nothing came undone while you were soldering the wires to the circuit board.
