Introduction 

The electronics of the Radio Shack Preschool Remote Control Toys - Helicopter / Robie the Robot / Police Car are fairly straight forward and simple to adapt.  The function of the toy that will be adapted is the remote control switch.

When the switch (the button in the middle of the hand control) is pressed, the toy (assuming it is on) either goes forward or turns. Each time the switch is pressed the next event occurs (forward or turn).

We will be adding a 1/8" mini jack and connecting wires to the switch. In total there is 1 hole to drill and 4 soldering events to complete the adaptation of this toy.

After the toy is adapted it will continue to work as it did before - except now it will be accessible to more children.

The control is the only part to be adapted.
